In the Technology and Innovation in Healthcare course, which is part of the Bachelor of Health Policy and Management, students use design thinking to create solutions for organizational problems. This year, the students received a challenging assignment from the Erasmus MC: ‘Design a solution and implementation plan for teleconsultations at our hospital.

A variety of solutions were created, including several teleconsultation applications and extensions to the HiX software. The winning group created an application for children with a grown disorder called Groeispurt. The app enables the children to log their development at home and send it to their doctor. When a follow up is needed, the app offers the option for a teleconsultation with the doctor, but otherwise the children can skip the visit and spend their time otherwise. Congratulations team Groeispurt!
